MODERN-DAY MARILYN
Hollywood glamour with a hint of rebel defined Joannah’s wedding-day style. This modern-day Marilyn rocked makeup by Aimee Cox of Kohl Brow Studio in Lithgow. “While most brides go for a simple, natural look on their big day, Joannah wanted something quite unique and special,” says Aimee. Using some of her favourite products – Arbonne and Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics – Aimee created a flawless base for Joannah’s movie-star look. A fully qualified beauty therapist and make-up artist with nine years of experience, Aimee has recently decided to focus on eyebrow transformations while still offering bridal and special-occasion makeup.
Joannah’s Hollywood hair was coloured and styled by the team at Euphoria Hair & Beauty in Leura. Max Steel, aka Max the Barberian, started with an all-over scalp bleach to take Joannah’s hair right back to white blonde, then used ‘Antique Rose’ from Evo Hair’s Fabuloso Pro range to achieve the perfect shade of pink. Max has just opened Lord Carrington’s Parlour, upstairs at The Carrington Hotel, which is a traditional old-school barbershop. While this means he won’t be mixing colours any more, he has plans to offer special wedding packages for gents and their groomsmen. Using a vintage technique with a roller set to produce soft waves, stylist and salon owner Kellie Adler created the perfect do for Joannah’s vintage-inspired wedding day. Kellie has also recently opened a new salon in Wentworth Falls.

TIMELESS STYLE
Classic elegance was the order of the day for Paul Bedggood’s bridal client. The normally outdoorsy Lou cast aside her rock-climbing gear for a glammed-up,romantic look. “I went with a timeless hairstyle for Lou by weaving all her hair to the back and leaving some soft bits out around her face,” explains Paul. Bold, sexy and smoky Nars black eyeshadow made Lou’s pale-blue eyes really pop, while golden champagne highlights added sparkle and softened and blendedout the dark eye shadow. On Lou’s skin Paul used Chanel Vitalumier for its silky, weightless feel and luminous finish. Nars blush in a peachy tone with Chanelhighlighter enhanced her skin’s radiance under lights. An earthy pink pop on the lips and a great lash fitting, with individual lashes, finished the glamorous style.
“Lou loved her look and felt girly and gorgeous from head to toe,” Paul recalls. “We all had a ball on the morning of her wedding with a few cheeky drinkies, music, lots of laughs and a good chat. Bringing joy and beauty to people’s lives is what has kept my passion going for hair and makeup over the last 24 years,”he says. “Their joy brings me joy!”
